LOCATION
Mission Bay is a 4,600-acre saltwater bay, lined with 27 miles of biking and walking path. Popular water activities include stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, and kayaking. Just across Mission Boulevard is Pacific Beach, with its famous boardwalk, running from La Jolla to the jetty at Mission Beach. It’s a quick stroll to the historic Crystal Pier to watch the waves and surfers mix. Or, if you’re up for adventure, give the Giant Dipper rollercoaster at Belmont Park a roll!
While Pacific Beach is famous for its nightlife, the area abounds with opportunities to explore, eat, and enjoy. From the Tuesday afternoon farmer’s market to local coffee roasters and a multitude of craft breweries, you’re sure to find something to delight your palette within walking distance or a short ride.
The area is highly walkable. Basic amenities are just a short stroll from the hotel, including a grocery store, pharmacy, and urgent care. If you need it, you can probably walk to it.
If you choose to rent a car or field a ride service, the Catamaran is conveniently located in the thick of central San Diego. SeaWorld is 3.2 miles away. The Gaslamp District in historic downtown is less than 10 miles away. La Jolla—and its boisterous sea lions—is about 4 miles.
