Yes! We will be using the Whova app in 2026. Attendees will be getting a link to join with instructions about two weeks prior to the event. You’ll be able to personalize your agenda, take polls, chat with attendees and the FirstWatch team, find out where a group is meeting for dinner or getting together for a morning walk, and more!
There is not a virtual component to this year’s conference. After the conference has ended, we may elect to share certain recordings with attendees.Â
In addition to the additional expenses for FirstWatch staff, wages, travel, and food, during the event, hotel expenses everywhere are extraordinary. When companies have conferences at a hotel or convention center, the venue requires catering and other services to be handled through them and charge extremely high rates for food, audio-visual, etc. (For example 10 gallons of coffee is $1,130.00 and each sandwich lunch is $52.) FirstWatch loses money on every Collaborate Live, but we have negotiated the best possible price for value, and feel that the investment is worth it in order to have face-to-face gatherings like this. Interestingly, this is one of the reasons most conferences have sponsors and exhibitor booths, because the income from the sponsors and exhibitors helps defray the conferences’ expenses. We are considering if there is a way to include sponsors and exhibitors in Collaborate Live in the future without detracting from the conference itself, but the feedback we’ve had from attendees so far is that they prefer it without exhibitors, so we’re holding off as long as we can.
