Whether it’s handling installations and orientations or consulting with customers on specific questions or requests, Jim Veskerna is dedicated to making sure customers get the support they need. Jim believes in developing a strategic partnership with each and every customer; we are not simply a vendor. As FirstWatch continues to grow as a company, Jim has made his and his team’s personal mission to make sure every customer gets the necessary attention they need in order to be more successful at what they do using the right FirstWatch tools.
Jim began his career in 1985 as an Emergency Medical Technician for two San Diego ambulance companies. He spent the next decade with Hartson Ambulance (MedTrans/AMR) in San Diego, where he worked as a field EMT and an emergency medical dispatcher for the city of San Diego and Hartson suburban communications centers. In 1994, Jim moved into the public safety technology arena and worked at two major public safety software companies, where he held senior project and product management positions before joining FirstWatch in 2010. He is a (Pragmatic Marketing) Certified Software Product Line Manager and has managed the product directions of Telephony, Computer Aided Dispatch, Mobile and RMS in addition to the teams of industry experts that created, installed and support these products. With bonus experience in Software Support, IT, and Sales, Jim truly has a unique perspective to understanding our customer’s needs.
Jim and his husband spend weekends enjoying their new grandson “August” along with family, friends, and their black lab Charli. Though now he works on the data and technology side of EMS and public safety, Jim always keeps in mind that helping his customers, in the end, is about helping citizens and their communities. “To help others, to make someone else’s life better, is what really inspires me,” he says.
