Randy Skomsvold

Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, & Chief Financial Officer

All things operational, sales, project management, contracting, financial reporting and analysis, billing and collecting, budgeting and forecasting, strategic planning and HIPPA compliance are just a few of Randy’s responsibilities at FirstWatch. “My role is to support our team and processes by leveraging more than two decades of EMS experience and industry relationships to support financial and operational growth, improve sales cycle times and facilitate new product development.”

With his decades of experience in financial and operational roles, Randy understands the needs and desires of public safety providers. Having worked in such specialized industries as EMS with limited reporting systems (and also being a self-professed “data geek”), he understands what it feels like to be “data starved”. “Prior to coming to FirstWatch, I was a user (and became a champion) of the FirstWatch system,” said Randy. “I understand the applicability and benefits of our system, people, and products. I can help clients use our systems combined with their industry expertise and experience to create a higher quality system.”

Randy graduated from Long Beach State with a bachelor’s degree in business and accounting. He has worked for ambulance providers in financial and operational roles at both the local and national level. His previous roles with EMS providers include Vice President of Operations, Senior Vice President of Operations and Chief Financial Officer. Outside of EMS, Randy was a Regional Director, where he was responsible for 11 branches of a home healthcare company.

When he’s not working, Randy spends his time with his wife (married since 1988), their three children, daughter-in-law, grandson and their 2 dogs and 2 cats.  A serious sports fan, Randy loves both playing and coaching any and all sports. He has so far coached his three kids through baseball, soccer and volleyball and run in numerous half marathons. If he’s not at a sporting event or rooting on his Los Angeles Dodgers, Randy can be found in his garden getting dirty.
