Ryan brings a wealth of public safety experience to his work on the customer care team, where he ensures that FirstWatch solutions deliver both optimal customer service and patient care. In addition to nearly 12 years in law enforcement in Orange County, California, in roles ranging from police cadet to police officer to police communications officer, Ryan’s North Star has remained the same: helping people.
Outside the office, he carries that same ethic to his volunteer work as a member of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA)—where he also sits on the organization’s Wellness Committee—the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) and the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch’s (IAED) Outreach Committee. If that didn’t keep him busy enough, Ryan works part-time as an outreach director for the 911 Training Institute and conducts training classes for local police officers and dispatchers.
This former competitive long-distance runner still enjoys running and working out. Don’t be surprised to see Ryan at the beach—his “happy place”—and, when possible, in the crystal-clear waters of the South Pacific. (And if you have the chance, be sure ask him about his time as a limousine chauffeur or get him to say the alphabet backward.)
