COVID-19 Process/Policy Template
Description:
A novel coronavirus, now referred to as COVID-19, has been identified as causing an outbreak of respiratory illness, including pneumonia in Wuhan, China in late 2019 and early 2020.
This webinar was the 2nd Coronavirus webinar we hosted with the Paramedic Chiefs of Canada and was planned to meet the requests of attendees from the first webinar (which was held February 3rd: click here for webinar recording and handouts). Attendees enjoyed hearing the real-world experience of Snohomish County, Washington providers who transported the first confirmed 2019-nCoV patient in North America, and asked for specifics on how they should prepare for and treat patients with suspected Coronavirus in their own systems.
In this webinar, we discussed two scenarios, each with two types of patients:
Scenario 1: Coronavirus initially suspected at time of dispatch
Scenario 2: Coronavirus initially suspected while on scene
